Tata Nano

nanocar.jpg The most disappointing part of the unveiling of the $2,500 car by India’s Tata Motors – outside of it not having a cute name like the Curryvette or the Delhincoln – is that the Nano won’t be sold in the United States. A $2,500 new car that’s not radio-controlled and I can’t buy one? That’s as un-American as making ethanol out of sugar cane.Full humorous article here.

The article quoted above has got to be the funniest I’ve read about the Tata Nano! Go read it for yourself!

If you have never heard of the Tata Nano, then you are not keeping up with the latest trend in motoring!

Didn’t you know with the arrival of the Tata Nano, every Indian’s dream of owning a car can be fully realized? At only $2,500 a car, the Nano is within reach of most people, which means people with motorcycles can now upgrade to a car!

It is just too bad that the Nano will not be available for export to the US. It does not meet the minimum safety standards of the Department of Transportation. If it did, I could get myself a second car that I could use to ferry the kids to school in. The school is just down the road, so I won’t have to worry about competing for road space with big SUVs.

But then again with no air-conditioning it’ll be hell to drive on hot summer days that we have in our part of California! Not for someone like me who can feel hot all of a sudden!

I guess I’ll just have to give the Tata Nano a pass.
