Found. Stinky little doggie with cone attached to head.

This little doggie showed up at our front patio this afternoon. When Doug first saw a dog, he immediately shouted at it and tried to shoo it. But when he saw that it was only a little dog, he opened the door and took a good look.

The poor dog was lost and mangy looking. It had a cone on its head. We noticed some areas on the back of his body, and realized that the cone was to stop him from scratching on those areas. They looked like some skin infection.

Doug went out to the end of the road to look at a little poster that mentioned a lost dog.  Unfortunately the lost dog in the poster was a pit bull, nothing resembling the poor guy at our front door.

We had to go to town that afternoon and left the dog tied up to a tree under some shade and also placed a dog house near it.  We gave it some water.  We are still trying to locate the owner of the dog.  We may have to stick some posters on trees near mail boxes.  He couldn’t have wandered far from his home.
