  • Hair Styles for the 40s

    I always thought that when a woman reaches her 40s, as I am, her hairstyle should match her age.  Is there such a thing as a hairstyle matching one’s age?   I always cringe when I see a woman sporting a hair style that is totally wrong for her age and looks.

    I could be wrong, err, I know I am wrong!  According to this article called Hairstyles By Age we don’t have tobelieve everything we hear out there about having to match a hairstyle with one’s age.  The trick is to find out what hairstyle one can get away with.  Since I am in my 40s, here’s the advice from Hairstyles By Age.

     Believe it or not, you don’t have to go short in your 40s. In these years, your personality might drive your hairstyle. If you ooze sexuality, go for a long, sexy waves. Funky and athletic?     Tip #1: Take care of your hair. As you age, your hair will tend to get brittle. Treat your locks to a hot-oil treatment once a week and get your hair trimmed every 6 weeks.

    Tip #2: Layers are very flattering, flat hair isn’t. Give your hair body with layers, no matter your hair length.

    Tip #3: Go for color. If you’re blonde, try highlights. If you have dark hair, go for caramel highlights or go a shade or 2 lighter all over.
