8th Anniversary

by Puteri | August 8th, 2007

Yesterday, Doug and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. Doug took half the day off, and on his way back from work he stopped to pick up 2 dozen red roses, and a bed pillow.

Roses are something that I usually get on our anniversary, but a bed pillow? Doug knows my quest for the perfect pillow. The pillow I am using right now is filled with buckwheat. It cost me over $50 for the pillow and the shipping and handling. I was quite happy with it, but recently it just doesn’t seem to give me the same satisfaction anymore.

This new pillow is made of memory foam on one side, and micro-fiber on the other side. I slept on it for the first time last night, and I can say that it is not that bad. Not bad at all. We’ll see how well it is working for me as the days go by.

For lunch Doug and I went to BJ’s Brewery and Restaurant in Elk Grove. It is a relatively new restaurant and very busy. Twice before we tried to eat there for dinner but the line was too long and I didn’t want to wait 45 minutes or more to be seated.

The restaurant was more a restaurant bar type with TV screens all over the place. The place was still busy even after 1.00 p.m. I had a fish (hallibut) taco while Doug had clam chowder and a baked potato. We shared a glass of blonde beer. The fish taco and the beer were really good.

Every anniversary Doug tells me if he had to do it all over again, i.e. marry me, he would! :-D Happy Anniversary, sweetie!
